Pricing for cinnamon and vanilla continues to rise dramatically due to poor harvests and bad weather in producing countries.
Effective July 1, McCormick contracted pricing for cinnamon and imitation vanilla will rise by 20%. On the same date, real vanilla product pricing will increase 45%.
Continued demand is exceeding the 2017 harvests and depleting of manufacturer inventories of these products. For vanilla, the outlook for the 2018 harvests from Madagascar, the leading world supplier of vanilla, is lower than normal.
